NOORDKAPER 31C
The Noordkaper 31 C is the most popular Noordkaper made of polyester, designed by Martin Bekebrede. Characteristic features of the Noordkaper 31C are its large, bright interior, shallow draft thanks to the use of a centerboard, and good sailing characteristics, even on larger bodies of water.
The rigging is available in either a classic version with round spars and gaff sails or a modern version with aluminum torn rigging and furling headsails, sloop or cutter rigging.
A wide range of wood types are available for the interior: mahogany, cherry, oak, beech, and abacci are all possible. The client also has many options when it comes to the interior design. In 2024, 40 ships of this type will be in service.
The successful Noordkaper 31C model was redesigned in 2019 after 11 years of production:
- The cockpit was made slightly deeper to improve seating comfort and offer more protection.
- The hull was made slightly higher: the standing height in the cabin is now 2 meters and in the toilet room approx. 1.80 meters.
- The rear seat in the cockpit has been removed to make more room for a steering console (the tiller version is of course still available).
- The cockpit is now equipped with two storage boxes and a recessed stern storage compartment as standard;
one storage box is hardly sufficient for longer trips, but a dog cage is of course still possible. - The jib of the cutter-rigged boat is designed as a furling jib: one sheet, curved sheet rail, operated from the cabin roof.
